The Singapore Ministry of Finance (MOF) has formally initiated its annual pre-budget consultation process, calling on stakeholders to submit proposals for the upcoming Budget 2025.

With the Budget scheduled for presentation to Parliament in February 2025, the MOF is soliciting views and suggestions from individuals, businesses, and organisations across Singapore. The submission window is open until 12 January 2025.

The consultation focuses on four primary thematic pillars, guiding contributors towards areas of national priority:

  1. SG60: Building Our Singapore Together: Encompassing strategies for long-term national development and societal cohesion.
  2. Developing a More Vibrant Business Ecosystem: Targeting policies to enhance competitiveness, innovation, and growth opportunities for enterprises.
  3. Providing Opportunities for Skills Upgrading and Jobs for Workers: Addressing workforce development, lifelong learning, and employment security.
  4. Supporting Singaporeans Across Different Life Stages: Focusing on social policies and support mechanisms tailored to diverse needs throughout citizens’ lives.

Detailed subtopics within these broad themes are outlined in Annex A of the official invitation on the MOF website.

This structured consultation period provides a critical channel for stakeholders to directly influence fiscal policy formulation. Input gathered will inform the government’s priorities for economic management, social support, and strategic national investments outlined in Budget 2025.

Interested parties are encouraged to review the specific themes and submit their proposals via the official MOF channels before the 12 January 2025 deadline.
