About Our Founder

Mr Luar started his professional career with an International Accounting Firm in 1983 and subsequently continued with medium-sized accounting practices. He is the founder of E H Luar & Co, established in 1999, and a partner in Alliance Practice LLP since February 2011.

He has more than 28 years of experience in areas concerning financial reporting, auditing and assurance, fraud examinations and investigation, corporate secretarial and finance, and tax investigation and advisory, for both local and international businesses. He serves as advisor to corporations for IPO preparation, and is active in corporate restructuring, investment decisions, due diligence and performs feasibility studies for companies in business expansion plans.

Mr Luar qualifies as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1995 and is a Fellow in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in London (FCCA). He is a practising and fellow member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (FCA, Singapore). His other Fellow memberships include CPA Australia (FCPA, Australia), the Insolvency Practitioner Association of Singapore Limited (FIPAS), the Association of Financial Planners (FFP, UK), and the Institute of Financial Consultants (FIFC, Canada).

Mr Luar is an Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax & GST), a practicing member of Association of Certified Fraud Examiner (CEF, USA), a Certified Financial Consultant (CFC, Canada), and a member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (MSIArb, Singapore).

Mr Luar was Independent Director to a listed company and several privately owned fund-investments companies in Singapore. He is currently Chairman of Audit Committee and Advisor to a large Charitable Organization, member on the Senior Quality Assurance Advisor Panel for ISCA Quality Assurance Review Programme, facilitator of the ISCA Technical Clinics since 2012, trainer of ISCA CPE programme, as well as a professional development workshop facilitator for Singapore CA Qualification in financial reporting, taxation, and assurance since its inception.

Mr. Luar is a co-founder of Singapore Accountancy Alliance and a Representative of the ACCA Singapore Professional Expert Forum.
