The Act will come into operation  on a date that the Minister appoints by notification in the <em>Gazette<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is the summary of the pending  amendments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Empowers the Minister to make, within the period of two years after the date of commencement of the <em>Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019<\/em>, additional provisions of a saving or transitional nature consequent to the enactment of any provision of <em>Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019<\/em> as the Minister may consider necessary or expedient. <\/li><li>Amends s <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">54(2)<\/a>, <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(3)<\/a>, <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(4)<\/a> and <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(5)<\/a> and <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">55(1)<\/a>, <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(2)<\/a>, <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(3)<\/a>, <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(4)<\/a>, <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(5)<\/a>, <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(6)<\/a> and <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(7)<\/a>  by deleting the words \u201cHigh Court\u201d wherever they appear and  substituting in each case the words \u201cGeneral Division of the High  Court\u201d. <\/li><li>Amends s <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">54(4)<\/a> and <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">55(5)<\/a> and <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">(6)<\/a> by deleting the words \u201cthe Court\u201d and substituting in each case the words \u201cthe General Division of the High Court\u201d. <\/li><li>Amends s <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">54(5)<\/a> by deleting the words \u201cthat Court\u201d and substituting the words \u201cthe General Division of the High Court\u201d. <\/li><li>Amends the section headings of s <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">54<\/a> and <a href=\"javascript:void(0)\">55<\/a> by deleting the words \u201cHigh Court\u201d and substituting in each case the words \u201cGeneral Division of High Court\u201d.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: Singapore Statutes Online, 13 December 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amendments to the Goods and Services Tax Act (Cap 117A, 2005 Ed) will be effected by the Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019.
