{"id":1363,"date":"2019-10-07T09:31:49","date_gmt":"2019-10-07T01:31:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/?p=1363"},"modified":"2020-01-19T09:53:08","modified_gmt":"2020-01-19T01:53:08","slug":"amendments-to-the-income-tax-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/2019\/10\/07\/amendments-to-the-income-tax-act\/","title":{"rendered":"Amendments to the Income Tax Act"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Amendments to the <em>Income Tax Act<\/em> have been effected by the <em>Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019<\/em> was published in the <em>Government Gazette<\/em>  (electronic edition) on 12 December 2019. It will come into operation on a date that the Minister appoints by notification in the <em>Gazette<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is the summary of the pending  amendments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>empowers the Minister to make, within the period of two years after the date of commencement of the <em>Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019<\/em>, additional provisions of a saving or transitional nature consequent to the enactment of any provision of <em>Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019<\/em> as the Minister may consider necessary or expedient.<\/li><li>amends s 81(2), (3), (4) and (5) and 82(1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6) and  (7) by deleting the words \u201cHigh Court\u201d and substituting in each case the  words \u201cGeneral Division of the High Court\u201d.<\/li><li>amends s 81(4) and 82(6) and (7) by deleting the words \u201cthe Court\u201d  wherever they appear and substituting in each case the words \u201cthe  General Division of the High Court\u201d.<\/li><li>amends s 81(5) by deleting the words \u201cthat Court\u201d and substituting the words \u201cthe General Division of the High Court\u201d.<\/li><li>amends the section headings of s 81 and 82 by deleting the words \u201cHigh Court\u201d and substituting in each case the words \u201cGeneral Division of High Court\u201d.  <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: Singapore Statutes Online, 7 October 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amendments to the Income Tax Act have been effected by the Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment) Act 2019.
