{"id":1667,"date":"2021-04-06T10:28:59","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T02:28:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/?p=1667"},"modified":"2021-04-07T10:45:14","modified_gmt":"2021-04-07T02:45:14","slug":"iasb-extends-support-for-lessees-accounting-for-covid-19-related-rent-concessions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/2021\/04\/06\/iasb-extends-support-for-lessees-accounting-for-covid-19-related-rent-concessions\/","title":{"rendered":"IASB extends support for lessees accounting for COVID-19-related rent concessions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On or about 31 March 2021, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) has extended by one year the application period of the practical expedient in IFRS 16 <em>Leases<\/em> to help lessees accounting for COVID-19-related rent concessions that reduce  lease payments due on or before 30 June 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The original amendment was issued in May 2020 to make it easier for  lessees to account for covid-19-related rent concessions, such as rent  holidays and temporary rent reductions, while continuing to provide  useful information about their leases to investors. The cut-off  was 30 June 2021.
