{"id":1829,"date":"2022-02-21T09:47:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T01:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/?p=1829"},"modified":"2022-03-10T10:03:57","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T02:03:57","slug":"property-tax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/2022\/02\/21\/property-tax\/","title":{"rendered":"FY 2022 Property Tax"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On or about 18 Feb 2022, the Minister for Finance, Mr. Lawrence Wong, delivered his Budget Statement for the Financial Year 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><em>Enhance the progressivity of property tax for owner-occupied residential properties<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The progressive property tax rates for owner-occupied residential properties will be revised for the portion of annual value in excess of $30,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This change will be phased in over 2 years as shown in Table 2 below, starting with property tax payable in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This increase of property tax rates for owner-occupied residential properties affects only residential properties with annual values over $30,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table 2: Property tax rates for owner-occupied residential properties<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"622\" height=\"202\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ehluar.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/image-1.png?resize=622%2C202\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1830\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/image-1.png 622w, http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/image-1-480x156.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 622px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The final property tax rates of up to 32% will take effect for property tax payable from 1 January 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><em>Enhance the progressivity of property tax for non-owner occupied (such as vacant, or let-out) residential properties<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The progressive property tax rate schedule for non-owner-occupied residential properties will be revised.
