{"id":1897,"date":"2022-01-08T12:04:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-08T04:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/?p=1897"},"modified":"2022-03-10T12:40:53","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T04:40:53","slug":"revised-edition-of-singapore-acts-of-parliament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/2022\/01\/08\/revised-edition-of-singapore-acts-of-parliament\/","title":{"rendered":"Revised Edition of Singapore Acts of Parliament"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On or about 31 Dec 2021, under s 10 of the <em>Revised Edition of the Laws Act 1983<\/em>, the Law Revision Commission has published a revised edition of the following Acts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Companies Act 1967<\/em><\/li><li><em>Economic Expansion Incentives (Relief from Income Tax) Act 1967<\/em><\/li><li><em>Estate Duty Act 1929<\/em><\/li><li><em>Goods and Services Tax Act 1993<\/em><\/li><li><em>Goods and Services Tax Voucher Fund Act 2012<\/em><\/li><li><em>Income Tax Act 1947<\/em><\/li><li><em>Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore Act 1992<\/em><\/li><li><em>Payroll Tax Act 1965<\/em><\/li><li><em>Property Tax Act 1960<\/em><\/li><li><em>Stamp Duties Act 1929<\/em>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Revised Edition of the Laws (Section 7) Order 2021 declares that the 2020 Revised Edition of the above Acts comes into force on 31 December 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Revised Edition of the Laws (Section 11(3)) Order 2021 declares that with effect from 31 December 2021, the 2021 Revised Edition of the <em>Stamp Duties Act 1929<\/em> is the sole and only proper law of Singapore in respect of that Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the completion of a universal revision of Singapore&#8217;s Acts of Parliament by the Law Revision Commission and Attorney-General&#8217;s Chambers (&#8220;AGC&#8221;), the revisions have made changes in two key respects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Names of Acts have changed<\/strong>: There are no more chapter numbers, and the year of the revised edition is no longer necessary.
