{"id":661,"date":"2018-07-19T10:35:02","date_gmt":"2018-07-19T02:35:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/?p=661"},"modified":"2018-08-01T10:44:42","modified_gmt":"2018-08-01T02:44:42","slug":"update-of-gst-e-tax-guide-for-retailers-participating-in-tourist-refund-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ehluar.com\/main\/2018\/07\/19\/update-of-gst-e-tax-guide-for-retailers-participating-in-tourist-refund-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Update of GST e-Tax Guide for Retailers participating in Tourist Refund Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On 17 July 2018, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) has updated the Eighth Edition of the e-Tax Guide &#8211; GST Guide for Retailers participating in the Tourist Refund Scheme and replaced the seventh edition published on 8 November 2017. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The e-Tax guide provides details on the features and refund mechanism of the Electronic Tourist Refund Scheme (\u201ceTRS\u201d) and includes the conditions that retailers participating in the eTRS must comply with. It is relevant to those entities that are participating or intend to participate in the eTRS either by engaging the services of a Central Refund Agency (\u201cCRA\u201d) or operating on your own as an Independent Retailer (\u201cIR\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The following were the changes made:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Amended paragraph 3.2.1 to update Tourego\u2019s contact details<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Amended paragraphs 3.2.1, 8.3.1 and 11.2 to remove PTF following its exit as a CRA<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Reference to the electronic Tourist Refund Scheme is amended and applied consistently across the guide<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Amended paragraph 8.1.2(d) on goods returned scenario<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Amended paragraphs 8.2.1(e) and 8.2.1(f) to include Alipay as a mode of refund<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Inserted paragraph 6.1(a) and amended paragraphs 4.1, 8.1.1 and 12.4 to make clear that a refund of GST paid on the goods can only be requested by someone who is the purchaser of the goods<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Source: <em>IRAS<\/em> 19 July 2018<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 17 July 2018, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) has updated the Eighth Edition of the e-Tax Guide &#8211; GST Guide for Retailers participating in the Tourist Refund Scheme and replaced the seventh edition published on 8 November 2017.
